Moving abroad can be a challenging and hectic time. Not only do you have to find a new home and settle into work, but you also have to find the right school for your school-aged children. With over 30 years of experience, Edufax is the reliable partner when it comes to providing advice for families who are relocating abroad. We are well-acquainted with education systems in various countries, including India.
We help you find the right school in India
Looking for new primary- and secondary schools when relocating abroad can be challenging. Moving to a new country also means getting used to a new language, a new home and a different educational system. At Edufax we use multiple steps for our working method. The method consists of five steps that ensure a seamless transition. After you reach out to us, we will send you a short questionnaire to get to know you and your family. After we have received the questionnaire, we will schedule a 60-minute consultation, where we will discuss the Indian educational system and answer any question you have regarding the school system. After the consultation you will receive an Educational Mobility Report which includes all the discussed information. If you wish to visit schools in India, our Admissions Support Team can arrange appointments for you.
For primary- and secondary schools
At Edufax we consult families with finding the right primary- and secondary schools. Through our relocation and consultancy services we provide insights into primary- and secondary systems, expert guidance and personalized educational advice. With the family we will look at the best options and explore school options that suit their situation the best.
Insights into the Indian education system
The Indian educational system is divided into Primary school, Lower Secondary School and Higher Secondary School. Before children are enrolled in Primary School, parents have the option to enroll them in Kindergarten. Children who are enrolled in kindergarten are between the ages of 3 and 5 years old. While being enrolled in kindergarten children are prepared for Primary School.
Primary school
Primary education in India starts at the age of 6 and lasts for 8 years in total. Where other countries work with grades, India works with Classes I to V. The curriculum consists of subjects as Math, Science, Social Science, languages, physical education and value education.
Secondary school
Secondary School is divided into Lower Secondary School and Higher Secondary School. Lower Secondary School has 2 grades, grade 9 and grade 10 where children are taught subjects like English, Math, Science, Social Science, Computer Science, Arts and additional languages. Students also receive Physical education.
After completing Lower Secondary School students get enrolled in Higher Secondary School. Like Lower Secondary School, Higher Secondary School has 2 grades, grade 11 and grade 12. The curriculum focuses more on specific subjects that are related to streams which students can choose themselves. The streams range from Science and Commerce to Humanities and Art. At the end of two years students have to complete their Higher Secondary education by entering board exams.
